In Bass We Trust NYC is now in effect. We recently made our first venture out into the big city and of all the places to venture out, there was one we needed to get to first. We met some of the great folks from Lavo at WMC in Miami, including the discriminating door keeper, Richard Wheeler and have been trying to make a stop for about 75 weeks since. It was worth the wait, just wish it had not taken so long, and it won’t be next time.
As a side note, Richard runs the amazing clothing line HOUS. The designer brand has been featured around the globe, recently launched in Copenhagen among other places around the globe. We've seen the musically inspired designer garbs on sale on South Beach, but you can score them online now. The fashions have been worn by many a huge star DJ and celebrity. 'IBWT' are huge fans of the HOUS label, so should you be.
As for Lavo, expect to buy a table, know someone or have lots of money to get in the exclusive venue. Don't come dressed in jeans and an Ed Hardy thinking you are getting in. The prime midtown location is at 58thStreet, so a sunrise stroll in Central Park is an easy option. The décor and lighting are top notch as is the sound system. The people are beautiful and the drinks are expensive. Everything you want in an A-list NYC nightclub.
As a constant stream of v.i.p. waitresses carried sparklerlit bottles of champagne and vodka, resident DJ Jeffrey Tonnenson was on thedecks throughout and played an upbeat proper set of current and cutting edge electro andtop 40 with a random sprinkling of trap tossed in for the revelers.
Can’t wait to get back, promise it won’t take us 75 weeks.
