Welcome to the 'Bass We Trust' Blog!

Party People!!!!!!  In Bass We Trust (IBWT) is proud to announce it's Blog, hosted at BassWeTrust@Blogger.com.  As the movement expands, we will be having bloggers hitting some of the best events from around the globe.  The search is on for IBWT bloggers in a city near you!

In Bass We Trust was founded by Dante DiMedici, a house music producer, DJ and event organizer, in Jan. 2013 and just 5 months later has exploded on the dance music scene.  There have already been four live events in multiple cities, including an epic 16 hours during the WMC in Miami FL in the heart of the action on Collins Avenue.  Over two dozen DJ's from around the globe haver appeared on the lineups for the initial series of events, including Brooks (Brazil), DJ Sluggo (Chicago, IL), DJ Frenzy (Las Vegas, NV), R-Wonz (Charlotte, NC), Skitch (Charleston, SC), DJ Surv (New York City), DJ Halo (Miami, FL), Xist (Asheville, NC) and Rocketpants (West Orange, NJ) to name just a few to have graced the decks at shows already.  Artists from Charlotte, NC included Aaron Sigmon, Jay Cooper, Tom Boothe, Moejo, Bonn-Evil, Kid West, Sinetec, SVED, Sarah Burns, Theoretical, Caibel and Ichi-ni from the Decepticonz.  Other artists to spin at a show in early 2013 have included Nasty Nick (NYC), The House Spinners (NYC), DJ T-Mic (NYC), Kids On Mars (Miami), DJ Turbo (NJ).  While the focus has been on house music, many sub-genre's have been represented, including Drum and Bass, Breaks and Electro.  Venues for the events have included Maxine's at the Catalina Hotel in Miami FL, Crown Station and Volume Lounge, both in Charlotte, NC.

The latest show in Charlotte, at Volume Lounge, was the In Bass We Trust Arbor Day Dance and included two big rooms banging out the beats of ten different DJ's.  RenElvis, a Filipino Elvis impersonator, made an encore In Bass We Trust appearance with his band in the parking lot, much to the delight of the entire area.  Other special guests at previous shows have included Mike Graci playing live drums, the Bass Bunnies dancing on the ceilings and Buff Faye showing up in drag to perform a one time performance piece that will live on long in the memory of anyone there.  Visuals have been at the forefront of the In Bass We Trust experience.  Besides the normal fanfare of lasers, smoke machines and flashing lights, visual on display at events have included choice movies and special video edits, appearing on as many as 6 screens.  Some of the sensory stimulations have included a one of a kind video edit of Fritz Lang's masterpiece Metropolis, Speed Racer, HR Puffnstuff, Psych-Out, The Trip, vintage cartoons and some things you just had to be there to believe were played in public!  At the most recent event, an entire art exhibit by Charlotte resident Kat Smith was on display.

Future events are being planned in the expanding global footprint.  Stay tuned to basswetrust@blogger.com for forthcoming show announcements, global dance music news and other ramblings.

In Bass We Trust now is broadcasting a weekly radio show, hosted by DiMedici, on z100internet.com that first appeared in Febuary, 2013.  Brand new shows premier every Sunday at 8 p.m. for east coast U.S. listeners (1 a.m. UK/London time).  The station, registering many millions of monthly listening hours, has had enough of a positive response to merit the show a rebroadcast on Monday nights for Australia and Japan (8 p.m. in Sydney & 9 p.m. Tokyo).  Shows are being archived at mixcloud, podomatic and itunes in case you miss a week.  Be sure to check out Dante DiMedici, the movements founder and organizer, on the net.  Twitter or Facebook pages are the best source for up to the minute announcements.

This blog will be open to all things dance music, so look forward to reviews of shows appearing with increased frequency as the lineup of Bloggers from around the globe expands.  The first show planned to review this week will be of a true house legend, Columbian producer & DJ Erick Morillo @ Label in Charlotte, NC.
